Hi! I’m Amanda Leaman, Boston-based balayage expert.
I have been in the industry for 17 years, longer if you want to count all of those sleepover haircuts & colors, I gave friends as a kid. Very early on, I knew that the hair industry was my passion and that I had to pursue it. I started off while I was still in high school as an assistant at a salon just north of Boston. From there, I spent several years working in Harvard Square in Cambridge before ending up at Joi Salon. I am so grateful to have spent the last ten years working at Joi Salon alongside a team that I love working with, that have become family.
If you wish to book an appointment with me, you can do so through my website topknotbalayage.com
See you soon!

Favorite product: So hard to choose just one! I’d have to say Virtue 6-in-1 Styler. It’s extremely versatile and can be used for air drying or blowdrying. It gives just the right amount of texture and hold, while still being soft and it smells amazing! What’s even better is that it contains Alpha Keratin 60ku which is human hair keratin that helps rebuild your hair!
